Pharaoh Ants found in different colors ranges from light yellow-brown and also are found in dark-brown color. The size of these ants can range from 1.5-3.0 mm long. This species of ant dwell in colonies and preferably nest in warm areas. These ants mostly are found in hospitals as well as nursing homes in specific areas adjacent to the heating ducts. These ants migrate to different places and can travel up to vast distances in search of food. The ants prefer foods with high protein contents including meat, blood, vegetables and fatty foods. Particular attention is required to demolish the colonies or nests of this species of ants. The ants form new colonies in large areas if the nest splits which will worsen the infestation.
