Sugar Ants are common in Australia! This species of ants have a brown-orange body and sizeable black head. Their size ranges from 7-12 mm. This ant species is larger in comparison to many other ant species. They specifically target hollow woods, tree branches, shrubs, beneath soil and rocks in the outdoors. Though this species gets named as Sugar Ants, they don’t primarily feed on sweet food. These are omnivores in nature and also eat meat. The ants don’t have stingers, and they don’t even bite humans.
