Stingless Bees are the native bees found in Australia. These species of bees prefer tropical climate and mostly found in the ideal climate of Queensland and the Northern Territory. These are very tiny in size and can grow up to 3-5 mm. These are black in color and don’t sting. The nest comprises a queen, males and several worker bees which can range from hundreds to thousands. This species of bees mostly build their nest inside hollow of trees in the northern areas while in the urban areas, these bees build their nests inside wall cavities or even under concrete footpaths. This is the only species of bee available for sale in Australia. Instead of bee removal, the experts transfer the nests into small hive boxes. The process further is helpful for honey production and crop pollination.
