The German cockroach is a common household roach species in Australia. The adult roach in this species grows up to 10-15 mm in length. The male German cockroaches are light yellowish brown having a long tongue-shaped body. The females are dark in color and have a plump abdomen. The female produces 4-9 egg cases in her lifetime, and each egg case contains 37-44 eggs which it carries till the time of hatch. A single female can be the reason for 30,000 roches at end of year. The nymphs take 30-60 days to attain adulthood. The lifecycle of this species is more than 100 days. The German Cockroaches prefer dark and secluded places for nesting purpose. These pests commonly found in households, restaurants, hotels, and other such places associated with humans.
