Are silverfish harmful? There are no records of Silverfish bite and no evidence that prove those to be poisonous. The pests don’t even carry pathogens causing any diseases. However, some people may develop allergic reactions if they come in contact with the dropped scales of silverfish. You may develop red linear marks on the skin if silverfish come in contact. Silverfish may cause nose inflammation as well as respiratory allergy. You may feel an itchy sensation. These little silvery monsters enjoy eating dandruff so you may find these pests crawling on your head while sleeping. Silverfish in bed could be the responsible for spreading allergies. Silverfishes move around in the trash bins in search of food, and these may climb on the food stocks to spread harmful bacteria. But, such conditions are rare!
