Redback Spider

Redback Spider is one of the dangerous and notorious spider species. It is similar to the venomous spider- Black Widow in the US and other parts. This species of spider prefers to reside in the proximity of densely populated urban areas. The Redback spiders thrive in warmer regions and are found everywhere, i.e. inside the house, outhouses, storage yards, industrial sites, hollow woods, junk piles, etc. the Redback spider is completely black with a red dorsal stripe in its back. The females in this species are larger than the males and grow up to 1cm. The males are tiny in size. The body size of these spiders is bigger in comparison to their legs. These spiders built messy webs and most of the time the webs contain numbers of egg sacks that look white or creamy in color. The cobwebs of Redback spiders are stickier that makes it almost impossible to wipe off through brush or vacuum cleaner. Generally, the spiders feed on insects but can also feed on large preys which may include small lizards.
