The White-Tailed Spider is a small spider. The color may vary from dark reddish to grey and the legs are brown in color. The spiders have a fainting white spot on their abdomen. This species are found mostly across southern and eastern Australia. The abdomen of a male spider is 12mm while the female’s abdomen is 18mm. The venom excreted by the White-Tailed Spider is non-lethal but can cause necrotic ulcers. This species of spiders are flesh eating and feed on other spiders rather than eating insects. The White-Tailed spiders are hunters and usually roam at night. These are adaptable to both urban and bush environment. The spiders prefer to hide below rocks, plant litter, gardens as well as less accessed spaces in home. These spiders can be seen in abundant during summer season. This spider species eat the venomous spiders.
