The Pale Field Rat is scientifically termed as Rattus Tunneyi. An adult rat of this species can grow up to 140 mm with a tail of 120 mm length. It weighs around 80 grams. Its tail is shorter than the body length. It gets distinguished for its bulging eyes and pale-brown color. This species of rats are also found in grey or cream color. These rats are highly populated near crop fields and grasslands. It smartly builds runways through the dense grass. It has close resemblance with Bush Rat, Sewer Rat, Ship Rat and Fawn-Footed Melomys. The droppings of these rats are torpedo shaped.
