A Flea’s bite is not painful but the bite develops itchiness and red marks. The bite can also cause swelling of the skin surface. Though furry pets are the targeted hosts, in absence of the primary hosts, the fleas attack humans to feed on their blood. The fleas cause several allergic reactions which may lead to severe secondary infections. The fleas are known to transmit several fatal diseases. These pests are common transmitters of rare bubonic plague and other bacterial diseases like murine typhus.
