Neotermes Insularis are Dampwood termites and also known as ring-ant termites. The soldiers of this species grow up to 10- 15 mm long. The termites have a flat head, and the section behind the thorax is as wide as the head.
This species of termites have the largest numbers of soldiers. The main habitats of these termites are forest trees but also found in garden trees. These termites build their nests in the outer rings of the trees. These species get largely found in coastal areas of Australia.
