The Schedorhinotermes Intermedivs termites are commonly found in eastern and southeastern Queensland and along the coastline. The workers in this species grow up to 3-5 mm and are whitish and partially transparent. The soldiers grow up to 3.5-7mm and are cream in color with large brown heads. The alates grow up to 17-18mm and are dark brown or black.
The workers and soldiers are wingless and blind. The queen lays eggs singly. The lifespan of the workers and soldiers is 1-2 years while the king and queen of a colony can live up to 20 years. This species of termites build their nests in the tree stumps or the root crowns of the living or dead trees. This species of termites are also found under buildings or within enclosed patio areas.
