Golden Ants are also known as Elegant Spiny Ants. These ants are back in color with a golden colored abdomen. This species of ants can grow up to 10 mm. They have spines on mesosoma and petiole. The ants have a long antenna. The upper part of the full body length is one-half lengthier than the total length of the abdomen. Unlike other species of ants, the Golden Ants are found individually moving on tree trunks and leaves. These are omnivores in nature and collect nectar from the plants. These are not aggressive but remain quite alert from the intruders. The Golden Ants build their nest in open soil or even under rocks and logs. These ants prefer staying in their nest during wet or summer periods.
