Introduction
Ropalidia Revolutionalis is commonly known as Small Brown Paper Wasp, and this species is native to Australia. These species are the smallest paper wasps. Head, abdomen, thorax, and wings are dark reddish-brown colored with a dark band on the abdomen. These wasps are not aggressive but will attack if their nest gets disturbed. The wasps deliver painful stings causing severe pain. These wasps are social insects, and each colony has a queen. Only the queen lays eggs, and other females in the colony are workers. At the end of the summer season, the queen produces males and fertile females. The young wasps in the colony feed on caterpillars while the adult insects feed on nectar. These wasps construct long stick-like nests with several adjacent combs. The wasps build their nests from decayed wood particles mixing it with their saliva. The suitable place for building nests in sheltered places. Nests of these wasps are common in gardens.
