The White Footed Ants have shiny black bodies. Body shape and size of these ants maintain uniformity. The ants can range 2.8-3.5 mm long. They get distinguished from other species for their large abdomen and light-colored feet. These ants bite, but their stings are not painful. The ants mostly are found in moist and forested habitats. These ants actively work during the nights. They enter the buildings through small cracks. They prefer to dwell in spaces with a good source of food and water. They form trails between the food source and their nest. They can create new colonies if food and water are available in abundant. This species of ants migrate in mass and carry pupae in their mouth. Though they prefer to dwell in the exteriors, you can find small nests in the wall cavities, storage containers, behind cupboards or any other hidden space with food supply nearby. The White Footed house ants prefer sweet foods but also feed on meat.
