The Ghost Ants are small in size and have translucent abdomen and legs. Head and thorax of these ants are deep browns in color. These are the most widely spread ant species around the world. This species of ants prefer warm and wet regions to dwell by forming colonies. Though they create colonies in the exteriors, they also reside in the interiors with an excellent climatic condition. The essential requirements for their dwelling are warmth and high-moisture. These ants mostly invade into sinks, toilets, baths, and showers. In the interiors, these ants can be located in potted plant soil, wall voids as well as behind skirting boards. The worker ants in this species run rapidly in search of food leaving trails behind the corners and edges. The ants feed on all kinds of nutrients but prefer sweet food. The colonies of these ants have multiple queens, and the worker ants in every province can range from 100-1000. The workers in the nest exchange their territories. Though the ants don’t sting, they destroy the plants and contaminate household foods.
