The Green Ants are popularly known as weaver ants. These ants are yellowish-green colored. The workers in this species of ants range from 5-10 mm long. Waist of these ants is long, and abdomen is relatively large. These ants build their nests in the foliage of the trees and shrubs. The workers pull the leaves close to each other and weave those together with the help of silk produced by the larvae. The Green Ant colony may consist of several nests that spread over several trees, but the province has a single queen. These ants are aggressive. They attack any intruder by swarming to defend their nest. They don’t sting but bite with their jaws and leave a burning fluid on the wound that secretes from the abdomen. These ants are predators but also collect honeydew. They don’t have a good vision but smell everything through their antennae.
