Aedes Notoscriptus
Aedes Notoscriptus are common backyard mosquitoes in Australia. The mosquitoes of these species transmit dangerous pathogens of Zika, Dengue, and Chikungunya. The females are small to mid-sized and darkish with pale markings. These mosquitoes have banded legs and proboscis with a white band. The scutum has narrow and dark scales with silvery scales. The adults remain active throughout the day but specifically attack during the evening, night and early morning. If during the daytime light is abundant these mosquitoes attack in shaded areas. These mosquitoes breed in water-filled plants, buckets, pot-plant saucers, garden ornaments and rainwater tanks.
