Aedes Vigilax transmits Murray Valley Encephalitis, Barmah Forest Virus, Kunjin, Sindbis and Ross River Virus. This species is a major pest in northern areas of Australia including few coastal parts in the south. These mosquitoes are mid-sized and have a darkish appearance.
