Eupoeciles Australasiae is a colorful species of beetle. This species is also known as fiddler beetle. These beetles measure 15-20 mm in length, and its body has dark brown and lime green to yellow patterns. This species of beetles are efficient flyers and can fly without moving their elytra. These pests remain engaged in searching nectar and plant exudates. The female beetles lay eggs in rotting logs or soil or debris. The larvae feed on rotting logs till they get matured and pupate. The adult beetles get buried in the soil and emerge in early summer and start feeding on nectar-laden flowers. These beetles can intrude to the interiors and spoil the environment.
