Culex Quinquefesciatus is a peridomestic species found very close to human residences. The females under this species are medium-sized and brownish. These mosquitoes have dark proboscis with pale scaling in the underside. The scutum is golden and bronzy colored with narrow scales. The wings are dark scaled, and the hind legs are pale. The abdominal tergites are dark scaled. The adult mosquitoes remain active during the warm months and attack the humans in the night. These mosquitoes attack indoors as well as outdoors. This species of mosquito also attack birds. These filthy insects transmit Murray Valley Encephalitis virus. These mosquitoes also carry Kunjin, RR, and other arboviruses.
