Around 193 species of Soft Ticks got found. The Argasidae is the second largest family of ticks which includes Soft Ticks. The soft ticks don’t have the hard scutum and have a wrinkled body. The males and females in this group grow up to the same size. If the soft ticks get viewed from the top, someone will get the impression that these ticks don’t have mouthparts. Mouthparts of these ticks are on the underside of the body. The soft ticks are easy to find in dens, animal burrows, caves, human dwellings, etc. These pests prefer dwelling in hot and dry areas. The soft ticks transmit Tick-Borne relapsing fever.
