Clothes Moths are well known for infesting stored clothing in wardrobes. These creatures also infest a wide range of fibers including fur, silk, hair, feathers and felt. Clothes moths remain undetected until you notice lots of flying moths. This category of moths are small that grow up to ½ inch. The clothes moths get broadly classified under two categories, i.e., the webbing clothes moths and casemaking clothe moths. The webbing clothes moths are uniformly buff-colored while the casemaking clothes moths have vague dark specs on their wings. The clothes moths are nocturnal and avoid bright light. These creatures prefer to live in dark and undistributed areas like basements, attics, closets. These tiny creatures found in corners or folds of the fabrics. The adult clothes moths don’t feed, so they cause no damage to the fabrics, but they lay eggs on the fabrics. The larvae hatched from the eggs feed on fabrics. The webbing clothes moths larvae spin patches of webbing or silken feeding tunnels when they move on the surface of the fabric. The casemaking clothes moths remain enclosed in a portable case and drag the case while moving.
