The Cluster flies grow up to 6-10 mm long. A Cluster Fly looks dark grey in color and the thorax part remains covered with golden-brown hairs. The abdomen area is dark gray. These flies lay their eggs in the soil and late summer or early autumn is the favorable time for them. The larva develops on the earthworms and feeds on their host for several days. The flies take 27-39 days to develop from egg to adult. The Cluster flies are found in undisturbed parts of the home as they require warm places to hibernate.
