The Flies in house are commonly known as the housefly. The houseflies are cosmopolitan pests that are closely associated with humans and different human activities. These are nuisance creating and also transmit diseases. And adult housefly grows up to 5-7 mm and the females are larger than the males. The houseflies have reddish eyes and sponging mouthparts. The thorax has four narrow black stripes and the abdomen part is grey or yellowish. These flies are active during the day and usually rest throughout the night. Warm summer conditions are appropriate for the development of house flies and it completes its lifecycle easily. The complete lifecycle of a housefly includes egg, larval/maggot, pupal and adult stages. The lifespan of the adults is 15-25 days but under suitable condition (cooler temperatures) these can live up to two months. Without food, the houseflies can live up to 2-3 days.
