Sulphur- Crested Cockatoo species is one among the biggest species of cockatoo. It has white feathers, yellow crest and yellow feathers under its wings. The bill and feet are black in color. The feathers in the crest are pointy and lose fitting. Though their favorable habitat is forest they are also found in urban areas. The adult birds grow up to 44-49 cm. The male and female birds are similar in looks but the females get distinguished for their dark reddish brown eyes. These birds are noisy with screeching calls. This bird species target a specific area for food until the food stock is available. These birds cause significant damage to grains, crops, and fruits. This bird species is a potential threat to agricultural farms, vines, orchards, etc. The Sulphur- Crested Cockatoo species also cause costly damages to the soft timbers on different structures. The birds can also damage the golf courses, tennis courts, race courses, ovals, etc. This species is declared as a pest for agriculture in the southern half of Western Australia.
